Boiling is key to extract the medicinal compounds of garlic and to soften the chayote, allowing their properties to infuse into the water.

1Â Lemon, sliced with peel

1Â Garlic clove, crushed or finely chopped

œ Liter of water (about 2 cups)
Preparation Steps

Boil: Combine the chayote, lemon, garlic, and water in a pot. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.

Strain:Â Pour the mixture through a strainer and serve the warm liquid in a cup.
