When to seek urgent help
Even if appointments are hard to get, try to seek care quickly if you notice:
- The sore has lasted more than 2–3 weeks.
- It’s getting larger, more painful, or spreading.
- You have swelling, pus, or fever.
- The sore is hard, bleeding, or irregular in shape (needs medical evaluation).
Since your sore isn’t going away, I’d recommend at least trying a telehealth/virtual consultation if you can’t get an in-person appointment soon. Pharmacists may also suggest helpful over-the-counter remedies.
