Ingredients
For the Base:
Pecan Pie Kit
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Filling:
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- 1 ½ cups pecan halves, roughly chopped
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Base
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add flour and salt, mixing until a crumbly dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and let cool slightly.
Step 2: Make the Filling
- In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and corn syrup until smooth.
- Stir in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
Step 3: Assemble & Bake
- Pour filling evenly over the baked crust.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the filling is set and lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
