Let’s see why:

- You used 1 → it’s still yours, you’re using it.

- You have the used one, and another that was neither borrowed nor thrown away.

Why do so many people fail?
Because we tend to read quickly and assume that “I used”, “loaned” and “threw away” are actions that completely eliminate the object. But using does not mean losing.
